Present Truth, Dispensational Truth, and Universal Truth
Posted by Edward R. Cross on June 23, 2026
Right division is not the discarding of Scripture but the right placing of it. Three tiers — present truth, dispensational truth, and universal truth — and two plain questions sort any passage: does it govern or describe, and does it reach every age or belong to a program. Keep all of Scripture; obey only what is addressed to you.
When There Was No Rightly Dividing
Posted by Edward R. Cross on June 22, 2026
Before Paul, no one in Scripture was ever commanded to divide the word of truth, and that silence is the argument. Until the mystery was revealed, all revelation ran in one stream to one destination: the earthly kingdom. Scofield and Larkin count the ages but never divide the seas; the one ridge they will not draw is the one Paul reveals.
Recognizing Religious Indoctrination
Posted by Edward R. Cross on June 19, 2026
There is a difference between believing a doctrine because you found it in the Book and believing it because a system placed it there and trained you never to question it. This article defines indoctrination, exposes the Bible-study methods that blend Scripture while ignoring right division, and names the marks to recognize it in yourself.
The Unreliability of Red Letter Bibles
Posted by Edward R. Cross on June 15, 2026
The red letters in your Bible are not an inspired marking but an 1899 printing decision. The format teaches a false hierarchy of Scripture, buries the words the risen Christ speaks through Paul, and presses Israel's kingdom instructions onto the Body of Christ. Right division, not the color of the ink, is the reliable guide.
Did Paul Write Hebrews, and Why It Doesn't Matter
Posted by Edward R. Cross on June 14, 2026
The epistle to the Hebrews names no human author, and faithful men have argued the point for two thousand years. This companion study lays out the full case for Pauline authorship and the full case against, weighs each, and shows why the answer changes no doctrine — a letter is governed by its audience, not its penman.
But Jesus Said… — Answering the Red-Letter Reflex
Posted by Edward R. Cross on June 13, 2026
When someone answers the gospel of grace with a verse in red, the question is never whether Jesus said it, but to whom and under what program. This study gives one diagnostic question and applies it to the texts most often quoted — the rich young ruler, judge not, Lord Lord, endure to the end — each belonging to Israel's kingdom program.
The Bible as Source, Not Support
Posted by Edward R. Cross on June 8, 2026
The Bible is meant to be the source of doctrine, not merely its support. This article examines the difference between honest and deceitful handling of the word of God — proof-texting, the 'I've got a verse!' mentality, and how traditions depend on imprecision to survive — with examples from James 2, Acts 2:38, and Matthew 28.
Feigned Faith of the Fathers
Posted by Edward R. Cross on October 7, 2023
Claiming promises God never made to the Body of Christ is feigned faith — pretense rather than genuine trust in the rightly divided word. This article shows what real faith looks like under grace and why applying Israel's conditional promises to yourself misrepresents God and produces vain jangling.
